This article aims to reflect on the multiple meanings of the construction of expanded knowledge, a process that considers human evolution since its inception and its development – Culture – as well as what has become what we today refer to as Education. The movements in the quest to understand the different means of expression of human productions are based upon an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach – respect, acceptance, relaxation of preconceived ideas, and the overcoming of paradigms confined in indisputable certainties. We used the cave paintings called “the negative hands”, in their broad scope of understanding and mysteries as a metaphor for these approaches, as well as the words of a poem by Marguerite Duras – Les Mains Negatives –, both being expressions of material culture that have been a pulsating point in our reflections on the meanings of life and its legacy.Metrics
