Abstract

In the adventure novel of the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, the representation of the young hero’s initiation rite to adulthood is of extreme importance. In this paper, we will examine how this representation takes place, from the analysis of the adventure novel The Lost World (1912), by Arthur Conan Doyle.
