In the present work, one discusses the education in Venezuela as produced in the country’s up-to-date historical moment, that of the Bolivarian Revolution is concerned. The Bolivarian education shows up with at least two characteristics, identified here as formal and libertarian education and ideological and doctrinarian education. After analyzing official documents, speeches by Venezuelan authorities and daily news, it was possible to conclude that education in the Bolivarian Venezuela is made up of a double characteristic: libertarian, when it seeks to guide the people to take positions in the fight for freedom and against imperialism, external interference and capitalism; and doctrinarian, as it leads citizens to accept the Bolivarian Revolution.Metrics
