A questão da cultura política em Almir de Andrade e Oliveira Viana

Abstract

This article is based on a thesis that was presented in October 2010 at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo). The thesis researched the journal ‘Cultura Política’ – Revista Mensal de Estudos Brasileiros (Political Culture, the Monthly Journal for Brazilian Studies) that was published by the Department of Press and Publicity - DIP from 1941 to 1945 and directed by Almir Andrade. This paper reflects on the Brazilian political culture, held by that journal and other authors linked to the authoritarian political thought that influenced the political thought of that time and especially the authors who collaborated with the journal ‘Cultura Política’, especially Oliveira Viana.
