Abstract

Street photography is the outcome of the demand of a new representation technique established by sensory changes encouraged by modernity. Various aspects of the flâneur - beggar, ragpicker, vagabond, detective, among others – made him develop his habitat in the crowd which in turn became the transformer agent resulting in the street photographer. The aura finds a representation in photography which determines a new atmosphere for the subject-object interaction meeting the needs of a sensory transformed by the pressures of modernity. The aura, the involuntary memory and the optical unconscious lead to street photography enabling a new way of apprehending unsuspected human dimensions.
