Abstract

The aims of this text is to bring one of the works of Max Weber, writing in the form of assay, intitled "The City" for a territory of reflection habitually filled for the pratices and the urban policies agents.Starting in an analysis of the process of writing of the assay, “The City” could be characterised considering it, to the side of its importance in the methodological construction of the thought of the author, as the attempt so that Max Weber can develop a new “ideal type” the one that called the “non-legitimate domination”.Thus, the approaches comparative and analytical narratives, to the study social-historic of the urban phenomenon that composes the map of reflections presents in "the City", can today be revisited and be argued as contribution for one another reading of the processes of transformation of the contemporary city.
