Novas estratégias de projeto e intervenção urbana: um olhar sobre o centro de São Paulo

Abstract

The center of the big cities is going through a revaluation process mainly related to the attempt at introducing the tourism and cultureactivities in its land uses. As consequence what we see are complex results because the whole process is directly linked with the daily lives of local residents. Therefore, this research aims to show the makeover caused by gentrification, a kind of urban policy intervention, which has been happening at central of São Paulo. Also, we highlighted the heritage movement of valorization, on the perspective of the interaction between the past, present in our memories, and the present represented by the modernization and globalization process that our cities are suffering. As methodology, we choose an exploratory research, with secondary data achieved from reports of public interventions of central of São Paulo.
