The Kalankó indians live in the Alagoas hinterland. They are descendants of a violent history of interethnic contact and land expropriation. Over the last century, they developed an associative pattern of thinking that emphasizes relationships and makes it difficult for them to consider things in isolation, which is responsible for, among other things, the formation of alliances with other groups in the region and also for establishing contact with spiritual entities. Moreover, this pattern of thinking is key to understanding their decisions about resources control. This text seeks to explore their thinking, describing the various systems in which it appears and its importance in the mentality of these people.Metrics
