Sociabilidade nas lan houses das periferias

Abstract

Sociability practices have taken on different forms recently, especially since the emergence of the internet. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the reasons why the urban fringe lan houses of the city of São Paulo lure mostly a young and teenage public and its function as a sociability builder within this group. For this we have investigated the involvement of urban fringe youth who attend lan houses, in the on-line as well as the off-line dimension, verifying the need to understand the reasons that motivate certain sociability manifestations in a greater context sense.
