Os circuitos da cultura na Virada Cultural em São Paulo

Abstract

Considering the schedule of the fourth edition of 2008's Virada Cultural in the cityof São Paulo, Brazil, and the space distribution of the thematic stages where thisevent is performed, I intend, upon this article, to merge a debate concerning themulticultural and multiracial constitutional process of its inhabitants. AlthoughVirada Cultural is an ephemeral and occasional event guided by entertainmentactivities, it signalizes, on the symbolic dimension, the town's way of living andthe importance of parties in the construction of Brazil's sociabilities.
