An approach to the ways of political involvement of the youth in Argentina between 1968 and present time from a possible state-of-the-art point of view

Abstract

The main goal of this article is to systematize the most important academicbibliography about political practices of the youth in Argentina between 1968 andpresent time. The research is conducted starting from the identification of differenthistorical times which become relevant in relation with the ways of politicalinvolvement of the youth, and also due to the recognition of certain inflexions inrelation to the approach of pieces of academic work about these issues. Accordingto the latter, it is key to identify and to question the different ways through whichthe concept of youth appears and is transformed. The article we present here is partof a team work done by the “Youth and new political practices in Latin America”(CLACSO) team work, which includes the authors. Moreover, the systematizationof the bibliography will be presented contemplating three fundamental items relatedto the political participation of the youth: a) education and the students´ movement,b) social movements, political parties and trade unions; c) cultural movement,aesthetics and different youth cultures. Our aim is to achieve at the same time ahistorical and subject-oriented piece of work, through which we can show thechanges in the political involvement of the youth in the selected period of time, andalso in the different accounts and statements about the youth produced by academicapproaches.
