Abstract

The full employment was the support for social security in the FirstModernity. The Keynesians Policies which had been implementedsince 1929 composed the Welfare State. The very success ofindustrial capitalism promotes changes. The technologicaldevelopment, the increasing wealth, the fall of Berlin Wall stimulatethe industrial society towards a new time. The state declares itselfincapable of playing the role of economic leader in maintaining thesocial equality and thus the enterprise take over this function. The metamorphoses in the world of the work and their impacts inthe contemporary society herald the end of full employment in theclassic definition. On the one hand, this new situation increases therisks and the uncertainties, but on the other hand, newopportunities for freeing labor from the tyranny of job arise. The so-called enterprising practices, however, can reveal a chanceto develop human capabilities, but it can also increase theexploitation of capital over labor.
