Mexico became one of the most violent nations in the world and indicators of violence, which until then were low, reached the highest levels ever measured. Between the years of 2006 and 2012 there were about forty seven thousand homicides related to the conflict between criminal organizations and the State. In 2010, drug-related homicides accounted for 45% of all homicides committed in the country. Rios says that the city of Juarez reached the mark of 216 homicides by groups of a hundred inhabitants, higher than territories in war zones such as Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. The main objective of this work is to analyze the rise of violent crime, focusing on homicides in Mexico, based on the Moser typology, whose political / institutional, economic and social factors appear as central categories. After decades with low crime rates.Downloads
