O Círculo de Chesterton:

uma abordagem a partir da teoria de Raymond Williams

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the Chesterton circle through the lens of Raymond Williams' theory, allowing for an observation of the agents participating in the structure of feelings in which the author is embedded. The article is divided into four parts: the first presents the epistemological perspective of the approach to the object; the second addresses Chesterton's autobiography to understand his familial trajectory until he became a man of letters; the third discusses Williams' theory, demonstrating that his approach to intellectual circles shows that these relationships go beyond a mere group of friends, enabling a more critical analysis of Chesterton's accounts in his autobiography; and finally, we present the research results, which consider that only a context of specific cultural hegemony would permit the occurrence of the Chesterton circle.
