Vestígios de um lugar próprio: Religiosas Francesas no Brasil

Resumo

Este artigo apresenta e discute os vestígios de um lugar próprio construído por religiosas da Congregação de Nossa Senhora do Calvário, uma instituição francesa que se instalou no Brasil no início do século XX. A partir de textos produzidos por padres para compor a memória oficial da instituição e de textos escritos pelas próprias freiras e que permaneceram nas margens da história oficial, procuro, na interseção dessas produções, como essas mulheres se viam e como se posicionavam em relação aos padres e bispos com os quais se relacionavam. Abstract This article presents and discusses the tracks of an own place built by nuns of the Congrégation de Notre Dame du Calvaire, a French institution that settled in Brazil in the beginning of the century XX. Starting from texts produced by priests for to compose the official memory of the institution and of texts written by the nuns and that it was in the margins of the official history, I seek, in the crossing of those productions, as those women saw themselves, and as they positioned in relation to the priests and bishops.
