Resiliência cultural da medicina tradicional chinesa no regime global de saúde

A pandemia de COVID-19 obrigou o governo e o povo chinês a recorrerem à Medicina Tradicional Chinesa (MTC) para lidar com a crise. Isso não se resume à eficácia do tratamento com ervas, mas também a uma filosofia de vida alternativa que se contrapõe à lógica capitalista baseada na sobrevivência do mais apto e no pensamento orientado para o lucro. Este artigo defende a resiliência cultural da MTC durante a pandemia e, em seguida, revisita sua história de subjugação na China moderna. Embora essa antiga tradição tenha sido absorvida ao longo de um século pelo poderoso discurso eurocêntrico, a MTC permanece vibrante nas comunidades locais. Conclui-se que a revitalização da medicina tradicional no Sul Global é uma das formas importantes e eficazes de descolonizar os territórios da medicina.
