O espaço sagrado na reconstrução da lembrança mítica das origens
Keywords:

The objective of this article is to show how a group of Ukrainian immigrants find mechanisms to preserve their cultural identity. By reconstructing the sacred space, the immigrants recreate the religious universe of their homeland. The reconstruction of the sacred space helped the immigrants preserve their identity, reorganize their social and religious world, set ethnic boundaries, and rebuild religion and rite. Recreating the sacred space, the immigrants were re-founding “their world” and rebuilding the mythical remembrance of their origins.
