Resumo

Proponho, neste artigo, discutir os embates em torno das comemorações dos 150 anos da Comuna de Paris. Para isso, recorro a matérias que foram publicadas em versão on-line por jornais ingleses e franceses e em páginas diversificadas da internet, que vão de blogs a sites, como o da Associação das Amigas e Amigos da Comuna de Paris, fundada em 1871. Com o objetivo de compreender a relação estabelecida entre o presente e o passado, destaco as conexões entre a Comuna de Paris e as lutas travadas, por exemplo, pelo movimento feminista francês e pelos críticos à democracia representativa e às desigualdades ligadas a ela na atualidade, em especial pelos Gilets Jaunes.

Abstract

In this paper, I propose to discuss the clashes surrounding the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Paris Commune. To this end, I use articles published online in English and French newspapers and diverse internet pages, ranging from blogs to websites, such as the Association of the Friends of the Paris Commune, founded in 1871. To understand the relationship established between the present and the past, I highlight the connections between the Paris Commune and the struggles waged, for example, by the French feminist movement and by critics of representative democracy and the inequalities linked to it today, especially by Gilets Jaunes.
