Author Biography

Peter Antes

Internacionalmente reputado cientista da religião alemão, tornou-se professor catedrático na universidade de Hannover, Alemanha, em 1973. Entre 1988 1993 foi presidente da Associação Alemã para a Ciência História da Religião (DVRW). Entre 1995 e 2000 foi vice-presidente da Associação Internacional para a Historia da Religião (IAHR) e entre 2000 – 2005 presidente da mesma. Em 2005 tornou se Honorary Life Member da IAHR. Reconhecendo seus méritos na área da cultura e língua francesa o governo francês o condecorou com a Ordre des Palmes académiques. O estado alemão da Baixo Saxônia o condecorou com a cruz de méritos por causa das suas contribuições na área do ensino e da pesquisa em Ciência da Religião e sua aplicação na área da educação. Aposentou-se em Fevereiro de 2012.
