Abstract

Starting from the Tocquevillian conception of democratic state, which implies that this is a state under permanent construction through the action of its citizens and therefore a plural space, open to the unexpected, where there is no truth unless provisionally, we will discuss the need to find guiding criteria for the political action of citizens, under pain of democracy losing its characteristics and leading to despotism.
