One of the great advantages of philosophy is that it does not fit into some of its categories. It’s one of the things that contributes most to its survival. The fact is that, at one and the same time, philosophy operates inside and outside itself. In its interior, for example, the category of time falls down, does’nt work. It’s what allows us to dialogue and think with anyone: from Anaximander to Michel Foucault, from Parmenides to Nietzsche, and so on. In this article we use this timeless characteristic of philosophy, and the concepts it produces, to think precisely the present time, and to point out how much it can contribute to thought and action, at any time. The concept of pólemos, extracted from one of the most well-known fragments of the archaic Greek thinker Heraclitus, is the guiding thread that will lead us to the beginning of contemporary thought, in order to combine that to the genealogy of morals of Friedrich Nietzsche. And, so, find the perspectives that can help in our reflection and action in the face of the circumstances and the serious problems of the contemporary world.Downloads
