The spectral taste for secrecy in Jacques Derrida. A reading of the visible and invisible and the secret in aesthetic thoughts of deconstruction from Memories of the Blind

Abstract

This text places the question of blindness, located in the work Memoirs of the Blind: the Self-Portrait and others Ruins, in an aesthetic-philosophical sense, within the scope of Derridian deconstruction, thus relating, peculiar elements of Jacques Derrida’s thought, as the theme of the specters, being here, linked to an idea of taste with the secret and the secret operating in their detours. The invisibility theme happens in the spectral bias, in the manner of paths and time as a maladjustment involving the visible and invisible, being, for Derrida, a frequent study in the philosophical tradition, where an initial approach is the Platonic dimension, also, this in what the analyzes in the works of art refers to. It is worth noting that an opening of these items in Derrida takes place in the form of drawing that is always blind, and with that another look is given to the visual arts and the arts in general that unfolds through sinuous spectral scenarios.
