Abstract

Since the creation of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948, the concept of Health was formulated as a condition of “complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Therefore, this concept has searched, from the beginning, in a situation of social welfare after the War, individual and collective conditions looking to prevention beyond the curative medicine. This process has historical precedents and since the Ottawa WHO Convention of 1986 included cultural factors to the health concept. At the same time, the physician and historian Mirko Gmrek evolved the concept of pathocenosis, that, in the current pandemic can bring interesting new aspects to the concept of disease.
