Brazil is experiencing a period of accelerated aging that requires thinking about this process that considers the elderly and their subjectivity. Population aging determines the human, social and economic need to take care of the health of the elderly and to promote autonomy and independence. Telemedicine is a medium that is undergoing rapid development, which can be a tool to expand universal access to quality healthcare that is relevant to the needs of the elderly. The Covid-19 pandemic facilitated the use of telemedicine and the future perspective is the maturation of good practices for healthcare in the digital and regulatory environment, with a balance between technical and legal requirements and the need for inclusion and promotion access to health care. In this essay, we put into dialogue a philosophy of health, supported by sociology, and medicine that seeks a more comprehensive care for the elderly.
