Abstract

Toxic epidermal necrolysis is a dermatological syndrome of pharmacological hypersensitivity. Its association with hydroxychloroquine is extremely rare. Herein, we report a case of a 48-year-old obese female patient, who after Chikungunya’s disease progressed with persistent joint pain and was treated with hydrochloroquine, evolving with toxic epidermal necrolysis compatible erythematous-bullous-scaly lesions. The patient progressed with complete remission after 1 month of supportive and antibiotic therapy for secondary infection.
