A rare presentation of a Merkel diverticulus on the mesenteric border: a diagnostic challenge
Keywords:
Meckel’s diverticulum, mesentery, abdominal painAbstract
Meckel’s diverticulum is one of the most common abnormalities in the intestine. It is the result of a failure in closing the intestinal end in the 5 - 7 week of embryonic development. Most patients are asymptomatic. The MD may present complications such as diverticulitis, bowel obstruction and more often bleeding. This case reports an atypical location of the MD thus causing diagnostic uncertainty.
