Abstract

ABSTRACT The Eisenmenger Syndrome (ES) is a type of cardiopathy caused by the elevation of pulmonary pressure above systemic levels, causing a right-left shunt. It presents high mortality rates when combined withpregnancy, reaching 50% of maternal death. This report presents a pregnant woman with ES and pulmonary artery pressure higher than 130 mmHg (severe pulmonary hypertension) and functional class III (NYHA). During pregnancy she used digoxine, propranolol and furosemide. Pregnancy evolved well and the baby was born after 36 4/7 weeks (according to the date of last period), weighed 2,492 kg and had an Apgar score of 9/9.
