In today's Brazilian society, the Christian religion is at the center of artistic-cultural political schedules that demarcate divisions and disputes, articulated mediatically. The aim of this text is to question the constitution of these limits. Therefore, I take as a premise the conception of poetry as the essence of art, searching for the points of contact and/or friction between poetic expressions and Christianity. As a method, I used the essay, having as main references Rubem Alves and Adélia Prado, since their lives and works have as their starting point the Christian religiosity. The dialogue is also made with Paz, Heidegger, Benjamin and Lotman. The main considerations made here point to a series of associations between poetry and Christian faith, which do not admit dogmatism, nor thematic prohibitions – which is opposed, therefore, to the limiting evocations, in vogue in the public sphere.
