Surrealismo, expressionismo e arte proletária em Mário Pedrosa (1925-1933)

The youthful trajectory of Mário Pedrosa is still today little known by the university public. This is due to the lack of publications that gather and discuss the importance of Pedrosa's intellectual production in this period. The present article reconstitutes his intellectual trajectory, between the years 1925 and 1933, with emphasis on the cultural debate held on avant-garde art and its impact in Brazil. In those years, Pedrosa was interested in unravelling the relationship between avant-garde art and avant-garde politics.
