In the present work, I examined the figure of double in Ovid's Metamorphosis. To begin, I study the concept of the double. Later, the state of the art for this work is delimited, returning to what Stierle said about fiction: poiesis and fingere. I also consider Compagnons ideas of mimesis. Consequently, I analyse three Ovidian myths. Then. I meditate about how duplication is still present nowadays. Finally, I conclude by pointing out the relationships between fiction and the figure of double.
