Filosofia da Conversação ou uma nova metafísica?

Considerando as divisões de autores que colocam, de um lado, um Dewey “bom”, ou “jamesiano”, ou “diluído” e, de outro, um Dewey “mau” ou peirciano ou concentrado, nos colocamos a favor de um único Dewey historicista e cientista ao mesmo tempo. Sustentamos que a filosofia da conversação pode ser interpretada como uma “nova” metafísica. Para atender a esse objetivo desenvolvemos e explicitamos as principais características da metafísica da cultura implícita na filosofia rortyana e em seguida realizamos uma avaliação dessa mesma metafísica quanto ao papel fundamental desempenhado pela linguagem, o consenso etnocêntrico em relação às pré-condições da conversação democrática e o dualismo entre as dimensões públicas e privadas.
