Abstract

From “vira-latas” to “não há quem possa!”: identities and brazilian soccer (1950-1958). During the years soccer has brought rudiments that made possible the building of narratives which dissiminated a homogenous speech from society. Mainly the classical masterpieces at the end of 40's known as “The negro in Brazilian soccer” written by Mário Rodrigues Filho and “The history of Brazilian soccer” written by Tomas Mazzoni. These discourses pointed to  the building of a single identity which not only have been reproduced by columnists but also by several groups from own accademy that during the last years they have  been interested over and over in the subject. Therefore the main objective from this article is identify some of these buildings giving importance for questions which want to know what kind of groups and advantages this society considered and why not to say that they go on doing so far.
