Abstract

Summary this article, that my master's dissertation, whose research is in progress is a small analysis of the soap opera Courage Brothers displayed by Rede Globo Television between 1970 and 1971, where the fictional dramas lived in a community of goldwashers of the interior of Goiás portray, in melodramatic language, depict, dilemmas experienced by Brazilian society at the time, marked by the wishes of the various social actors (Government, society) in modernizing the country within the international monopolistic capital, and, at the same time, by the authoritarianism of the military dictatorship. This way, the weft brings utopian elements of social justice and freedom, which stimulated the identification of many viewers who lived the various day-to-day used a society marked by social inequality.
