Relevance to Christian Praxis

Abstract

The purpose of this text is to understand the relevance of resurrection within the scope of Christian praxis. As a core fact of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus Christ configures the entirety of Christian life, that encompasses the like on earth (historical reality) and the like in heaven (transcendent reality). From the perspective of Christology, it is about the relationship between the risen Jesus and the crucified Jesus. The understanding of the Christian resurrection, therefore, needs to safeguard both dimensions within the Paschal Ministry of Christ. The imperative of this reflection has its point of sustainability in the Second Vatican Council that rescues the liberating dimension of resurrection, giving importance to Christian praxis. Methodologically, the study contemplates three moments. Based on a bibliographic investigation, we seek to highlight the signs of crosses and deaths that hermeneutically update the cross of the Crucified of Nazareth. Then, an analysis is made of how the Church, through its magisterium, responds to the questions of life, in the light of the concepts of dignity, well-being and social justice, signs of resurrection. And, finally, the study proposes a reflection on how the events, cross and resurrection, allow opening paths of salvation in history, as they contain a life force that penetrated the world. It is an unparalleled force.
