Linguística e Gestos no Brasil: levantamento e discussão do estado-da-arte

O objetivo deste trabalho é traçar um panorama do estado da arte das pesquisas realizadas no Brasil na interface entre Linguística e Estudos de Gesto. Para tanto, realizamos primeiramente um levantamento da produção acadêmico-científica sobre gestos no país nos últimos 20 anos utilizando as plataformas Google Acadêmico e Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD). Com base na análise dos títulos, resumos e referências bibliográficas dos trabalhos encontrados, foi possível determinar se eles se inserem no escopo das pesquisas sobre gestos na interface com estudos linguísticos. Dos 144 trabalhos encontrados, foram selecionados 76 artigos para análise e discussão. Os resultados mostram que, apesar de todos os artigos basearem suas análises e discussões no referencial teórico da área dos Estudos de Gesto, apenas 28 artigos discutem e aplicam métodos específicos para análise gestual, em grande parte o LASG e MIG-G. Além disso, o levantamento mostra uma tendência crescente de pesquisas sobre gestos no Brasil, tendo o número de publicações dobrado nos últimos 5 anos.
