A gramática de ‘transformar’ e ‘transformação social’: um estudo sistêmico-funcional

Resumo

Este artigo investiga como a experiência de mudança é construída semioticamente através da análise de padrões lexicogramaticais associados à noção de “transformação social”. Utilizamos o sistema experiencial de TRANSITIVIDADE para analisar ocorrências do verbo “transformar” e da nominalização “transformação social” no corpus COCA. Identificamos dois modelos complementares como resultado: um modelo material de conversação, e um modelo relacionado ao estado de ser. Há ainda dois modelos complementaridades de agentividade: um modelo médio, em que ‘transformação’ é construído como um modelo espontâneo e eficaz, em que é construído como ‘causado por’ um agente externo. A variante metafórica “transformação social” exibe padrões relativos ao uso de “social”, como um Classificador e “transformação social” como parte integrante de grupos nominais complexos.
