Abstract

This paper aims at describing in detail some teaching suggestions for the creation of argumentative texts in two Portuguese language course books for the teaching of Portuguese developed for highschool students from different linguistic-discursive perspective. The objective is to analyze these activities under the view of the theoretical-methodological assumptions defined by the authors in the “teacher’s book” and compare the two approaches. Finally, we seek to identify some linguistic concepts, such language, text, and argumentation, which support the activities for the writing of argumentative texts, recognizing that some of them provide little or no contribution to the production of an argumentative text that clearly supports a point of view.
