Abstract

The aim of this work was to discuss the psychoanalyst’s role in school, based on possible articulations between Psychoanalysis and Education, during observation sessions held in a school for deaf children located in São Paulo. We made some considerations searching for similarities and differences between schools for hearing children and schools for deaf ones. In this context, we consider that Psychoanalysis can intervene aiming to clarify the necessary consequences of the specificity and, moreover, it can search for possible ways to restore, in the bond hearing parents-deaf child, the transmission of marks which constitute that bond beyond the sign of deafness.
