Critical age for language acquisition

Abstract

In this work I discuss what has been considered to sustentate the thesis of critical age for language acquisition. In general, this thesis has considered just a few aspects of language acquisition like cerebral maturation. For this discussion I take in account cerebral plasticity, interactive aspects, cerebral organization as directly related to sociocultural aspects. None of these aspects have been considered in this discussion so we can't agree with the assumption of a crítical period of acquisition and defined only by quantitative and endogenous criterius to explain language acquisition.
