Communication pathways: report of an exhibition with the use of an interactive learning environment

To the effectiveness of the transmission of knowledge, it must be considered what strategy prioritizes people’s motivation to acquire new knowledge. Among the possible dynamics, there is the Interactive Learning Environment (IL-E) an educational model that combines technological features of threedimensional computer graphics and contexture. The objective was to show the development and implementation of a model IL-E on the theme of the processes of communication, including hearing, speech/voice and vision, to health promotion. The IL-E was entitled “Ways of Communication” and occurred in the city of Bauru, covering three themes: hearing, speech and vision. The exhibition featured diversified technology to stream content elaboration, to know: iconography as in 3D Virtual Human Project, larger panels, plates suspended from the ceiling, and a scenario prepared with TV and lighting to stimulate interactivity of visitors. Were developed contents of anatomy, physiology and prevention of communication disorders. The Virtual Man video was composed of all communication processes previously developed in an easy language to be understood, in order to enable the learning of visitors. The exhibition also included three big thematic panels and 30 plates suspended from the ceiling and visitors explored the materials that made up the IL-E sequentially, with an average duration of 40 minutes. At the end of exposure, it could be seen the participation of 498 visitors. The Interactive Environment for Learning was shown to be an important strategy in the development of health promotion actions, emphasized by the characteristic of interactivity, achievement of content, engagement of different areas of knowledge, and especially, the possibility of instigating the students to search for instruction.Downloads
