The objective of this communication is to present educational strategies developed by high school students of a public school aimed at promoting hearing health, in response to an experience of speech therapy in a school setting. At first, an educational lecture was delivered, facilitated by a speech therapist from Occupational Health Reference Center, using problematizing pedagogy assumptions in order to sensitize the school community about the effects of noise on health and the difficulties in getting the first job in view of hearing loss. Subsequently, the students, divided into groups, were invited to present strategies that addressed the promotion of hearing health and the prevention of auditory effects from noise. After 30 days of preparation, on the International Noise Awareness Day - INAD 2010, the groups presented the strategies to an audience of students, teachers, and school staff. All activities developed were creative and interesting; the audience displayed engagement. The results of this communication emphasize the importance of implementing programs to promote hearing health for adolescents, focusing on the involvement of students, fostering an appreciation for the quality of hearing health in student life.Downloads
