Objective: To describe the results of auditory evoked potentials of long latency (complex P1-N1-P2) in children with sensorineural hearing loss and individual hearing aid users (hearing aid). Method: There were 10 children with congenital sensorineural hearing loss, with degrees from mild to profound, aged two to eight years, who were followed at a referral center for Audiology of São Paulo. Data were collected about the audiological features and the speech therapy. The auditory evoked potentials of long latency (LLR) were recorded without HA tests using insert earphones in the intensity of 85 dB SPL, and hearing aids through a speaker on the intensity of 100 dB SPL. Results: Children with lack of LLAEP without HA test had grade severe and profound hearing loss. In the test with hearing aids in the whole sample LLEAP were identified. There was a significant suggestive correlation between age and hearing P1-N1 latency time. In the analysis between age of onset of use of hearing aids, weekly hours of therapy, therapeutic approach and systematic use of hearing aids, there was no association with the latency of P1-N1. Conclusion: Children with moderate degree of hearing loss showed presence of LLAEP in the tests with and without hearing aids. Children who had the degree of severe and profound hearing loss had no LLAEP without HA tests. All volunteers had LLAEP presence of the test with hearing aids. The value of P1 latency was increased, regardless of hearing age.Downloads
