Abstract

This study investigated the speech therapeutic training in the current health context. 240 documents of six speech therapy courses on São Paulo were analyzed (six curriculum structures and 234 disciplines and training programs). The curriculum structures showed that the theory is concentrated on the first years of the course, and training is developed at the end of graduation. This fact may turn difficult the implantation of a health promotion program to the community. The programs indicated the presence of expository classes as the main teaching practice, instead of a more interactive process between teachers and students, what evidences the need of reflections about the current model of speech therapeutic formation, to enlarge and optimize the educational performance opportunities .
