Abstract

This study presents and discusses the reading of two children, who have difficulties in reading and writing, in the speech therapy clinical context. It is based on theoretical frameworks of discourse analysis from the French Stream (AD), as founded by Pêcheux in France and developed by Eni Orlandi in Brazil. These foundations define their Subject as socially and ideologically marked, considering the discourse as effect of meanings between speakers, emphasizing the production conditions, involving also, the notion of reading as social practice and the Reader as limited to socio-historical conditions. Based on these theoretical constructs, and relating issues concerning the object reading lived in the familiar environment of the children, we show specific features that constitute the formation of these girls as subject-readers.
