Interdisciplinarity consists on the relation between two or more sciences leading to new knowledge. Thus, the intersection of Special Education with Speech Pathology becomes relevant once it aims at a salutary process of reflection and evaluation of the produced knowledge. The current paper presents a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production focused on the interface between Special Education and Speech Pathology. The analysis units were VHL databases. The records were selected by using the following keywords: Special Education and Speech Therapy, here understood to mean the intervention by Speech Pathology, indicated in the subject descriptor field, and 140 records were retrieved. Results emphasized that the interface between Special Education and Speech Therapy was more frequent in the United States than in Latin American and Caribbean countries, and interdisciplinarity was confirmed mainly through the multiplicity of approaches observed when keywords were analyzed.Downloads
