Abstract

Introduction: The user’s satisfaction is an important aspect to be considered in the process of selecting and fitting hearing aids once different kinds of signal processing in a hearing aid, analog or digital, can cause different benefits, therefore changing the user’s satisfaction. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the user’s satisfaction of analog, programmable and digital hearing aids. Material and Methods: This study took course in a hearing aid center of São Paulo city. The SADL questionnaire was applied on 27 digital hearing aid users, 18 programmable hearing aid users and 13 analog hearing aid users. Results/Conclusion: There were no significant statistical differences towards the satisfaction with programmable and digital hearing aids. The analog’s hearing aid users had the lowest scores relative to satisfaction, mainly concerning speech intelligibility in noise, amplification of environmental noise, feedback and telephone use.
