Program of speech therapy orientation for teachers of early childhood education

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a program of Speech Therapy orientation for teachers of early child hood education. Five teachers of a municipal kindergarten on the state of São Paulo participated in the research. The study was conducted in three stages: Initial Evaluation - Application of a questionnaire with essay questions and multiple choices of subjects in the area of Speech; Orientation Program - The researcher lectured through slides and brochures on: Development of Speech and Language, Reading and Writing, Voice, Stuttering, Hearing. And Final Assessment - Reuse of the questionnaire according to the themes of the area of Speech. The data collected were subjected to comparative analysis of performance before and after the program. The program succeeded in reinforcing the importance of partnership between speech therapy and education, and also contributed for the teacher to base his pratices on scientific knowledge.
