Abstract

The objective of present study was to analyze the data collected by internet applications companies in the light of Brazilian data. Departing from a historic contextualization of internet and data protection generations, we intended to analyze the Internet Act and Brazilian Data Protection Law (which is not yet in effect), in order to verify if they are effective regarding user’s protection. After that, we analyzed which data is collected and processed by the most famous internet application companies and we intended to conclude that a lot of sensitive data is shared between those companies and the need for deepening of legislation regarding the processing and sharing of such data.
