Resumo

O objetivo central deste artigo é apontar os fenômenos lingüí­sticos envolvidos na transposição de entrevistas realizadas com cientistas em textos jornalí­sticos publicados na imprensa diária. Tomamos como objeto de análise conjuntos de textos (entrevistas e matérias jornalí­sticas) publicados no Jornal do Commercio, que nos permitiram identificar as principais operações lingüí­sticas e as repercussões dessa transformação no conteíºdo proposicional. Nossa análise mostra modificações substanciais entre a entrevista e o texto jornalí­stico, mas normalmente a idéia básica do texto original é preservada. As imprecisões atribuí­das pelos cientistas aos textos jornalí­sticos de divulgação cientí­fica são muito mais uma questão de mudança da perspectiva de interesse do que propriamente distorção de informações. Mesmo se tratando de um estudo de caso, acreditamos que nossas conclusões indicam o que geralmente ocorre na retextualização de entrevistas em textos de divulgação cientí­fica para a imprensa diária. Palavras-chave divulgação cientí­fica, jornalismo cientí­fico, jornalismo especializado Abstract The main purpose of this article is to point out linguistic phenomena involved in the transformation of interviews with scientists into news texts published by the daily press. For the analysis, we used sets of texts (interview-journalistic text) published by the Jornal do Commercio, that permited us to identify the main linguistic operations and the effects of this kind of transformation on the propositional content. Our analysis showed substantial changes between interview and journalistic text, but, in general, the main idea from the original text is preserved. The inexactness attributed by scientists to scientific news texts are much more a question of a change in the point of interest than a question of informational distortion. Although a case study, we believe that our conclusions indicate what frequently happens in the transformation of interviews into texts of scientific divulgation by the daily press.
