<b>A complexidade atômica sem o princí­pio do átomo</b>

Resumo

Esta resenha discute as análises do livro organizado por Raquel Paiva e entende que cada autor chega ao resultado que demonstra por ter trilhado o caminho do “isolamento”, ou seja, a partir daquilo que está expresso na mí­dia, cada articulista levanta hipóteses sobre o ambiente social e o que a mí­dia poderia/deveria fazer para intervir nos fenômenos sociais. A resenha encaminha a discussão segundo uma outra hipótese, tirando o peso da análise do que a mí­dia expressa, e lembrando da necessidade de se atentar ao que leva a mí­dia a expressar o que edita. A resenha busca as relações impostas pelo sistema de processos geradores de significações dentro das mí­dias para demonstrar o quanto eles (sistemas e processos) são determinantes para o que está expresso e o quanto do que está expresso está distante de representar a “informação” que pretende. Enfim, esta resenha demonstra que os articulistas do livro inferem sobre a “realidade” a partir de elementos que não representam esta “realidade”. We propose that each article reaches a certain conclusion after treading on the road of “Isolation”, i.e., departing from what is expressed in the media, each analyst assumes hypothesis about the social environment and about what the media could and should do to intervene in social phenomena. The review moves towards the discussion taking into account another hypothesis, by lessening the influence of what the media analyses. It also reminds of the necessity to consider what prompts the media to express what it edits. This review also looks through the relations imposed by the meaning generating process system within the media in order to demonstrate how much both of them (systems and processes) are decisive to settle that what and how much is expressed is far from representing the desired “information”. This review, at last, demonstrates that the essayists in this book infer about “reality” based on elements that do not represent this “reality”. Keywords information, semiotics, system, process, news
